I’m a nutritionist, journalist, leader, and athlete committed to changing people’s lives for the better.
During my 20 years at The Beachbody Company, I guided the creation of nutrition programs and content that have helped millions get results. I also shepherded the company’s nutrition philosophy as they grew from a scrappy infomercial shop to a billion dollar publicly traded company.
As a writer, I’ve written for dozens of publications including The New York Times, Outside, Men’s Journal, and Wired. I’ve also ghostwritten or collaborated on books including Tony Horton’s The Big Picture and Michele Promanaulayko’s Sugar Free 3.
My transformation story, from an inactive couch potato in my twenties to the nutrition authority and successful amateur competitive athlete I am today gives me the ability to see nutrition through a variety of consumer lenses.
What People Are Saying
Denis is an extraordinarily talented writer. It’s always an inspiring and creative process when collaborating with him. His knowledge, wit, and passion for fitness and nutrition always exceed any and all of my expectations. I feel lucky to know him, and have him as a writing partner and friend.
Denis has a true gift for writing compelling nutrition and exercise content and combining them with cutting-edge research. His inquisitiveness and command of technical aspects allow him to transfer concepts to the design and development of commercial products, ranging from very successful nutrition and exercise programs to high impact articles, content, and communications.
Dr. Nima Alamdari
Denis has a great approach to nutrition. He keeps himself educated, which is very important in that field. It’s great to work with him since he is very aware of the concerns that a vegetarian like me may have while being very active with intense and endurance cycling.
Denis is authentically passionate about food and nutrition and is one of those rare breeds that can take out a blank piece of paper and craft ideas that resonate with the consumer and support the brand and business model. Oh yeah, and he has a terrific dry wit that makes the creation process entertaining too.
