Make Mine Movember!
It’s November, Nerd Herders– or, as I like to call it Movember.
Although I’ve been growing annoying mustaches intermittently since, well, since I was able to grow annoying mustaches, this is my second year of growing an annoying mustache for the good of mankind. Last year, I opted for the “Horseshoe” style which, combined with the sling I was wearing post-shoulder surgery, made me look a lot like an anemic, near-sighted biker who had recently totaled his hog.
This year, I’m going for a standard “Magnum” mo. To best emulate everyone’s favorite Hawaiian P.I., I’m also forgoing all my other manscaping this month. (It’s gonna get itchy!) To further sweeten the pot, my mentor/sparring partner Steve Edwards is also participating. I’m not sure of his manscaping status, and I have no intention of finding out.
Like I said, the money goes to a few good causes, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Read all about it here.
If you’d like to pledge my mo, you can do so here. (Thanks!) That’s also where you can watch my journey from babyface to Tom Selleck emulator extraordinaire.
Better still, jump on the Movember bandwagon yourself. It’s not too late to look great for the greater good.
Dennis:
First year to participate in Movember, so I’m a little bit unfamiliar in how to really get the donation side of things going: I did notice that there was the option to form teams: Have you thought about forming a team that Nerdherders could join in on?
Seth – I do have a team. You’re welcome to join!
